Sponsorship

Why should you sponsor a child today?

    • Your sponsored child will experience a fuller, happier, healthier and safer life.
    • You will be able to give them opportunities they otherwise would never be able to have.
    • Your messages bring them hope and happiness.

We Currently Have Three Types of Sponsorship Programs:

Transportation to School Sponsorship

Special needs children have to travel great distances to go special schools that are set up to meet their needs instead of going neighborhood school.  The government doesn’t cover transport costs and the students aren’t capable of making journey unaccompanied, so parents have to travel with them and often spend the day at school waiting for their children.  The transportation sponsorship is designed to help offset some cost associated getting students to school and make time commitment shorter to free up parents to be able work or spend time with other children. This in turn will increase students’ attendance. Due to length of travel and methods of transportation available, cost will vary for each family.

Nutrition based Sponsorship:

The main staple in most homes is Ugali. It’s made maize flour and water though it does have fiber its mostly carbohydrates it is considered to be in low in terms of nutrition content.  Research shows maize needs to be combined with legumes, vegetables, protein to be center of a healthy diet. This sponsorship program aims to provide additional nutrient dense foods. We will supply local fresh vegetables and fruits that many families can’t afford but are packed with much needed vitamins and minerals that body needs like bananas, mangos, avocados, cabbage, oranges, sweet potatoes, spinach. Also provided much needed protein such as dried beans, lentils, millet, jackfruit, quinoa, Dagaa (dried sardines) which are often absent from their diets.  After four months each child will be evaluated on impact to their overall health.

Your 40 $ dinner out, can provide nutrition that child needs for an entire month.

Equipment Sponsorship

Many of our children are in desperate need of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, supportive seating, splints, walking aids that would greatly increase their quality of life. Sponsor a child today to provide them with the equipment they need to thrive.
